Meet the Facilitator
John is one of the Manufacturers’ Alliance experts and facilitates the Operational Excellence Peer Group. With over 35 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including a period as Factory Director at the Horlicks Factory in Slough, John brings a wealth of practical leadership and operational expertise to his work. He is passionate about helping SME leaders deliver superior performance for customers, employees, and business owners alike.
An expert in change management and operational excellence, John supports leaders to move from reactive management to a state of flow, where processes work seamlessly, teams are aligned, and continuous improvement becomes part of everyday culture. His pragmatic, systems-thinking approach helps businesses identify bottlenecks, prioritise effectively, and achieve rapid, measurable results.
Throughout his career, John has led large-scale improvement programmes across complex manufacturing environments, delivering significant gains in productivity, customer service, and employee engagement. Known for his clarity, calm leadership, and ability to make the complex simple, he empowers leaders and teams to take ownership of meaningful, sustainable change.
Outside of work, John enjoys table tennis, rock music, playing bass guitar, walking, travelling, spontaneous fun, and spending time with his family. He brings energy, insight, and genuine enthusiasm for helping UK manufacturers thrive inspiring leaders to think differently, act decisively, and build progressive, high-performing businesses.
